November 26, 2004, Newsletter Issue #130: Fitness Gifts

Tip of the Week

Top end would be equipment like treadmills or stationary bike. Make sure it fits in their house and isn`t too noisy. At the other end would be something like a jump rope, a great stocking stuffer. Clothes are always good. Sweat shirts or pants, running shorts, hats and gloves for cold weather; if you want to give shoes, make sure they are returnable if they don`t fit, or give a gift certificate. Get high quality socks, like Thorlo or Coolmax, that people may not get for themselves. Another good stocking stuffer is a pedometer or step counter (see my newsletter on 10,000 steps a couple weeks ago). And don`t forget sports gear like golf balls.
Pay a month`s membership for someone who goes to a yoga studio, or make a gift of a couple personal training sessions. For an exerciser who always likes something new, go to www.healthandfitness.com, click on free shipping on the top banner, and check out the kangoo jumps. Magazine subscriptions to something like Outside, Runner`s World, Shape, or Muscle & Fitness may be appreciated. And don`t forget my weight training book comes in paperback. Order at www.booklocker.com/books/1222.html, and maybe give it with some dumbbells are weight gloves.
