June 4, 2004, Newsletter Issue #105: Are You Confident in Your Confidence?

Tip of the Week

Let`s face it, an elite athlete won`t do well without confidence, but there`s a lot more required, such as talent, training and practice, and luck. Clearly, confidence doesn`t guarantee victory, especially when both sides have it. But there`s no reason that you can`t be confident in reaching your fitness goals. If your goals are realistic, you can succeed no matter what anybody else does.
Want to lose weight, sure you can. Look like Jennifer Aniston? Probably not. Want to improve your bench press? Sure you can. Want to bench 500 lb? Maybe not. Go into your workouts confident that they will be productive, and they will. Common goals like losing fat, gaining muscle, improving endurance, improving sports performance, improving many aspects of health are all reachable if you work at it--and have confidence.
