If you just skipped a week or two, you can probably just pick up where you left off. If you were a bit overtrained, you might find you come back even stronger. If you were out longer, or if you were sick or really inactive, drop back on the amount of weight you use for a workout or 2 until you`re sure what you can do safely and effectively. Taking an easy day or even week may let you come back without getting sore. Then get back to your routine, and don`t worry, you won`t have to start all over.
